Nathan Smith’s first season in the Football League has certainly seen the defender deliver some impressive performances.
Nathan has been rewarded by the Football League as he has been nominated for the ‘League One Player of the Month’ award for August.
It has been a meteoric rise for the Port Vale defender who had never started a league game before this season’s opener against Bradford City in which he helped the Valiants to deliver a clean sheet.
He scored the winner in the game against Rochdale and was a mainstay in the defence which conceded just two goals in five games during August.
The Football League said on Nathan’s nomination:
“The academy graduate has scored a late winner and shown grit and determination beyond his years and deserves recognition for his performances”.
Nathan has also scored two further goals for Port Vale , both in the month of September.
Kangs Sports wish Nathan continued success in his debut season.
