Landlord Prosecuted for Gas Safety Failings | Kangs Regulatory Offences Defence Solicitors

Lokendra Kumar Khadka, a landlord from Plymouth recently pleaded guilty at Plymouth Crown Court to offences under the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 (‘the Regulations’).

The Health and Safety Executive, which prosecuted the case, told the Court that the gas appliances had never been checked at the property and that Mr Khadka had arranged for someone to make alteration to a flue that had left it in an extremely dangerous state.

Mr Khadka was sentenced to fifteen months imprisonment, suspended for twenty four months, and ordered to pay costs of £4,904.00.
